As much as I didn’t like losing an hour of sleep on March 10, I am loving the fact that it stays light out later in the evening. We are quickly approaching the end of March and with that comes so many happy events and celebrations. First is Springtime. The daffodils are popping through the ground, the birds are chirping, and the Robins are trying really hard to build nests on our new porch!
March Madness and The NCAA tournament usually brings lots of fun! And with that we enjoy many get-togethers with family and friends. UK basketball is like a religion around here. And this year we have really enjoyed watching these kids play. However, this past weekend was not what we expected or hoped for. We now have a lot of free time to get our yard ready for spring and summer!
At the end of the month is Easter. This is a special time in our home. We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. It is a time to spend with family. Lots of good food will be shared!
All of these events are opportunities to share our favorite appetizer, Kentucky Beer Cheese! For the basketball games we served beer cheese with pretzels. It’s easy for large crowds! For Easter we will “fancy” it up a bit and put it on a charcuterie board with other cheese and some assorted meats. Now, since the weather is getting warmer, we will be firing up the grill more regularly! With that being said I am certain that Kentucky Beer Cheese will make it onto a hamburger or hotdog.
The “New Birth” of spring always sparks inspiration and motivation. I can’t wait for all that is to come over the next couple of months!
